About Einsteinium

Mission and Goals

The Einsteinium Foundation's mission is utilize blockchain technology to generate funds for scientific research. There are two ways this is accomplished. The first is through a mining tax which creates a pool of funds providing grants to deserving applicants. The second is maintaining a currency which allows for a more transparent and trustful way to support causes.

Einsteinium coin is designed to reduce waste and eradicate corruption where it is needed most: charity and politics. We recently integrated crowd funding into the process. This enables us to raise awareness for more projects and causes, our coin, our sponsor items, and the benefits of cryptocurrency to a wider audience.

Achievements and Vision

So far the Foundation has contributed 16M of EMC2 coins for science projects. Finally, we hope to unite the world by building a community of givers, who seek to make the world better through honesty and compassion.

Community and Governance

Einsteinium is a community coin, meaning that governance is democratized and ownership is decentralized.

In simple terms, it's a digital coin that anyone with mining hardware can help create and verify transactions for. The project stands out by dedicating a portion of its block rewards to funding scientific research and educational initiatives.

Frequently asked questions

What is Einsteinium and how is it different from Bitcoin?

Einsteinium (EMC2) is a community-driven cryptocurrency created to support scientific research through the Einsteinium Foundation. Unlike Bitcoin, it channels a percentage of every mined block reward toward funding research projects and educational causes. Technically, it's also a mineable PoW coin, but with its own blockchain, parameters, and mission.

How does Einsteinium's technology and consensus work?

EMC2 runs on a Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism, meaning miners compete to solve cryptographic puzzles and validate new blocks of transactions. This is the same battle-tested model used by Bitcoin, where network security is maintained by computational power rather than staked coins. Anyone with suitable mining hardware can participate in securing the network and earning rewards.

How is the supply of Einsteinium issued?

New EMC2 coins enter circulation exclusively through mining — there is no pre-mine-style centralized distribution to rely on for the project's ongoing activity. Each mined block releases a fixed reward, part of which is automatically directed to the Einsteinium Foundation's treasury for research grants. This makes emission predictable and tied directly to network activity.

How can you store and use EMC2?

Like most mineable coins, EMC2 can be stored in wallets that support its native blockchain, including desktop wallets listed on the official site at emc2.foundation. You can send and receive it peer-to-peer anywhere in the world without intermediaries. Always download wallets only from the official website to avoid fake software, and back up your private keys.
