Nord Finance (NORD)

Nord Finance is a DeFi platform that combines several services — savings, lending, borrowing, and staking — in one place instead of making you hop between separate protocols. Its signature idea is taking concepts from traditional finance, like structured investment products, and rebuilding them with smart contracts. In short: most DeFi apps specialize in one thing, while Nord's pitch is the all-in-one bundle.

Nord Finance is not its own blockchain — it's a set of smart contracts deployed on Ethereum, with the project also reaching other EVM-compatible networks. That means NORD relies on Ethereum's consensus and security rather than running its own validators. The token itself follows the ERC-20 standard, the most common token format on Ethereum, which is why it works with virtually any Ethereum wallet.

NORD has a capped maximum supply rather than an inflationary, mining-style emission model. The initial distribution was split across ecosystem incentives, the team, and community programs, following the schedule set out in the project's tokenomics. As an ERC-20 token, new NORD only enters circulation according to that fixed plan — nobody can 'mine' it into existence.

Any Ethereum-compatible wallet will do: MetaMask or Trust Wallet for everyday use, or a hardware wallet like Ledger for longer-term storage. Within the Nord Finance ecosystem, NORD is used for things like governance voting and staking rewards. Standard self-custody rules apply — back up your seed phrase offline and never share it with anyone.
