Availability in Different Countries

Following the existing restrictions, residents of some countries don’t have access to the exchange. That includes traders from the United States, mainland China, and other regions with strict cryptocurrency regulations.

Fee Structure

Bybit fee calculation takes into account the type of transaction and user activity level. Bybit’s commissions are lower compared with commissions on many other services. Bybit uses a multi-level fee system: non-VIP, VIP 1, VIP 2, VIP 3, Pro 1, Pro 2, and Pro 3. Non-VIPs are charged 0.10% (makers and takers) trading on the spot market. Takers are charged 0.06%, makers - 0.01% in perpetual and futures programs. Takers of the Pro 3 level in spot trading pay 0.02%, makers - 0%. 0.03% is charged from derivative trades for takers and 0% for makers.

Available Assets

The Bybit asset list includes top-tier coins, such as BTC, ETH, XRP, and EOS, as well as lesser-known tokens. The list exceeds 100 digital assets and 300 pairs for spot trading.

Is Leverage Available?

Bybit facilitates margin trading with leverage. In derivative trading, it may be up to 100X. Notably, the platform offers perpetual contracts for different asset pairs. BTC/USD, XRP/USD, and EOS/USD are just a few.

The exchange offers isolated and cross-margin types, so users are free to pick the most appropriate variant depending on how much risk they are ready to take. Users will also find the opportunity to participate in perpetual contracts (with no expiration date), trade options, and leveraged tokens.

Frequently asked questions

What is Bybit?

Bybit is a cryptocurrency trading platform that made its name in derivatives — especially perpetual futures — and later expanded into spot trading and a wider set of crypto services. Today it operates as a full-fledged exchange rather than a derivatives-only venue.

Is Bybit centralized or decentralized?

Bybit is a centralized exchange (CEX). That means the platform holds custody of user funds and matches orders through its own infrastructure, unlike decentralized exchanges (DEXs), where trades are executed on-chain via smart contracts.

When was Bybit founded?

Bybit was founded in 2018. It launched with a sharp focus on derivatives trading and has since broadened into spot markets and other crypto products, becoming one of the more prominent exchanges in the industry.

What should users keep in mind when using Bybit?

As with any CEX, Bybit holds custody of your funds, so security settings like two-factor authentication and withdrawal whitelists are worth enabling. Availability and regulatory status differ from country to country, so check whether the platform operates legally in your jurisdiction. Also note that its core product — leveraged derivatives — carries a high level of risk and amplifies both gains and losses.
