About FlowBTC

Account Verification Levels

As most entry-level services, FlowBTC also requires its clients to undergo ID verification. Actually, it has several verification levels – Silver, Gold & Platinum. The Silver account has a daily limit of 1 Bitcoin or R $ 3,000.00 for deposits or withdrawals. The Gold account has a daily limit of 5 Bitcoins or R $ 45,000.00 for deposits or withdrawals. Level 3 (Platinum) verification is only granted to clients of the exchange who already have experience as Gold users.

Cryptocurrency Offerings

Apart from Bitcoin, at FlowBTC one can also buy or sell Litecoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin cash. Although this is not a coprehensive cryptocurrency portfolio, one of the most popular Brazilian exchanges, FoxBit has only listed Bitcoin and nothing else.

Deposit Fees

While crypto deposits are free of charge in many exchanges, fiat ones can be pretty salty. That is why we consider the 0.5% fee on fiat deposits at FlowBTC decent. By comparison, Mercado Bitcoin, another Brazilian exchange, charges 1.99% + 2 R$.

If you've just searched for FlowBTC by name, this page covers the key facts about how it works and what to keep in mind before using it.

Frequently asked questions

What is FlowBTC?

FlowBTC is a cryptocurrency exchange where users can buy, sell, and trade digital assets. It operates as a centralized platform, meaning the exchange itself manages user accounts, custody of funds, and trade matching. It has been around since 2014, which gives it a longer track record than many newer exchanges.

Is FlowBTC a centralized or decentralized exchange?

FlowBTC is a centralized exchange (CEX). This means users deposit funds into accounts controlled by the platform, and trades are matched by the exchange's own system. Unlike decentralized exchanges (DEXs), using a CEX typically requires account registration and identity verification.

When was FlowBTC founded?

FlowBTC was founded in November 2014. That places it among the earlier generation of crypto exchanges, launched well before the major market booms of recent years. Age alone doesn't guarantee reliability, but it does mean the platform has been operating for a long time by industry standards.

What should users pay attention to when using FlowBTC?

As with any centralized exchange, users should check the platform's current regulatory status, fee structure, and withdrawal policies before depositing funds. Since a CEX holds custody of your assets, it's also worth reviewing its security practices and considering whether large balances are better kept in a personal wallet. Always verify that the platform is still actively operating and supported before committing significant funds.
