Canadian mining company has mined over 800 bitcoins for the first quarter of 2018

During this period, the company attracted 70 million canadian dollars for the purchase of additional equipment for mining, brought 11 million canadian dollars of income and became one step closer to the opening of a new enterprise in Canada. The head of the company Andrew Kigel said that he was "satisfied" with the results, taking into account that Hut 8 began work only in December last year.
828 bitcoins mined in the first quarter were added to approximately 500 coins obtained earlier. Thus, the reserves of the company are currently about 1,300 bitcoins, Kigel said. However, Hut 8 is not going to stop there and plans to open new areas in Medicine Hat, along with the mining capabilities of the company will increase more than 3 times. It is expected that the new enterprise will be opened in September.
"The Medicine Hat platform will include 40 additional block-boxes. Once it goes into operation, Hut 8 will have 57 block boxes, and today's mining capacity will grow by 335%, which will allow us to take the position of one of the largest bitcoin miners in the market in the world, with 66.7 mW of allowable power and 448 PH/s. By increasing the number of block boxes from 17 to 57, we expect our daily mining performance to increase significantly. We believe that the Medicine Hat enterprise will be exemplary and will become a new world standard for enterprises on industrial - scale cryptocurrency mining," he said.
