SEC Fines ICORating in $ 269,000

Today, on Aug.,21, SEC announced that the Russian ratings platform has to pay a fine of $ 268,998 for not notifying users from December, 2017 to July, 2018 of monetary awards for promoting ICO projects. The case concerns tokens, which, in accordance with the US law, can be considered as securities. 

ICORating didn’t comment on the accusations, but at the current moment their website provides the notification of getting the monetary compensation for inclusion in the listing and rating projects. However, ICORating representatives say that it doesn’t affect the objectivity of the research.
