TOP-25 Largest ICOs and Fundraise Leaders

Fundraise leaders

Top three are EOS, Telegram Open Network and UNUS SED LEO, which is far behind the previous positions. Furthermore, they are the only projects having grossed over a billion on the ICO.

EOS is the blockchain platform for decentralised apps and business. The team has maintained ICO during 11 months, that resulted in fundraising of over $4 billion. Both large venture capital funds and ordinary people invested in the project. In June, 2018 the founders launched the project’s own platform and continue developing it now. A year later project’s CTO Daniel Larimer announced the creation of a social network in future on the basis of EOS, which will be designed to increase the mass adaptation of the project to society.

Telegram Open Network (TON), being one of the most closed ICO projects in history, conducted 2 stages of ICO and each of them could raise $ 850 million. At the same time, the minimum participation threshold was $ 10 million. Now the project is under development and promises to create a new Internet with plenty of integrated services.

UNUS SED LEO is a Bitfinex exchange token built on the Ethereum platform. It’s a utility token as well. ICO was held in early May and already on the pre-sale the whole offer was bought out. The exchange token is actively used and is always included in the top 20 cryptocurrencies by capitalisation.

ICO Growth Leaders and Strongest Falls

Growth leaders

The absolute leader by the growth regarding ICO fundraises became the TRON project. Having fundraised $ 70 million in June, 2017, in just 2 years the project has grown up in 17 times, judging by capitalisation. Moreover, in winter this rate reached 80 times, when Tron took the 6th place in the general top of cryptocurrencies.

TRON is another blockchain platform, a competitor to Ethereum. In June, 2018 it released a MainNet, and in just 6 months it was able to reach 2 million transactions per day, losing ground only to EOS. Tron is actively developing, so in January, 2019 it announced the purchase of one of the largest torrent companies with more than 100 million users — BitTorrent.

Tezos and Gatechain Token are on the 2nd and 3rd lines in growth, increasing by 3.5 and 2 times, respectively.

Tezos is one of the most famous ICO projects. $232 million were fundraised in just 9 minutes, that’s an absolute record at the moment. But then conflicts began within the team and, as a result, the development stopped. Six months later, all problems were resolved, and in August, 2018 Tezos launched its own blockchain platform.

Gatechain Token is a relatively young token which ICO was conducted in the spring of 2019. This token is an exchange token on the Gate.io trading platform. Currently it’s located on the 39th line by capitalisation among all cryptocurrencies.

The strongest falls

Currently 9 out of 25 coins have a drop in capitalisation of more than 80%. These include:

  • Dragonchain (DRGN)
  • SIRIN LABS Token(SRN)
  • Bancor(BNT)
  • MobileGo(MGO)
  • Envion(EVN)
  • Polymath(POLY)
  • TenX(PAY)
  • Neurotoken(NTK)
  • DomRaider(DRT)

The total sum fundraised during the ICO of the above projects is $1.15 billion, and their total capitalisation at the moment is only $90 million. A decline was a phenomenal 92%!

Dead project

The Dotcoin cryptocurrency was the exchange token of the popular New Zealand exchange Cryptopia. But in the spring, the founder of the exchange disappeared and took with him all the keys to cryptocurrency wallets. Subsequently, Cryptopia announced its liquidation, as a result of which the Dotcoin token disappeared.
