Due to the Growing Tension around Libra, Some Participants Want to Leave the Project
Lately, there was news on the network that the EU was about to launch an official investigation into the Libra Association due to a potential violation of antitrust laws. Earlier US officials said that the project should not be released until regulatory issues are resolved.
Besides, the FT report said that two organizations plan to leave this project because of all these troubles. Recall that the Libra Association currently has 28 participating companies. Each of these organizations invested 10 million US dollars to participate in Libra (Visa, Paypal, Uber, Mastercard, and many others).
In July, Visa general representatives said the firms signed a “nonbinding letter of intent to join Libra” and were not yet fully committed to the enterprise.
The misunderstanding between the consortium members seems to be bilateral in nature, as Facebook is also unhappy that other participants don`t support the project.
