Ethers stolen from UPbit were spotted on Binance and Huobi
Representatives of the PeckShield security agency monitored transactions on the Ethereum network and found that funds from one wallet were sent to four new addresses. Such steps were surely taken to conceal the stolen funds. Simply put, a hacker sweeps his tracks.
Also, according to PeckShield, 50 ETH (equivalent to 1 BTC per exchange) were dropped on Binance and Huobi cryptocurrency exchanges. An attacker is trying to track whether accounts will be blocked and if funds can be cashed.
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao noted that his exchange will block any funds obtained by dishonest means. Binance is ready to work with UPbit and other players in the industry to identify and immediately freeze any digital currencies that have been stolen from other users.
