First HTC Blockchain Smartphone To Go On Sale In December

A pre-order of the device can be made on the HTC website. From December 2018, it can be purchased exclusively for cryptocurrency, namely bitcoins or ethers. The device can be ordered in 34 states.

The smartphone has a 6-inch QHD+ screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio, furnished with a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. It also has a battery capacity of 3500 mAh, which is quite comparable with the leading Samsung and Google devices. The blockchain smartphone can be purchased for 0.15 BTC or 4.78 ETH, the amount is equivalent to about $960.

HTC has announced the release of its blockchain smartphone in May 2018, stating that it will be able to support decentralized apps, for instance, CryptoKitties. Besides, the device will perform the functions of a hardware wallet.

Exodus 1 contains a secure system, separated from another part of the smartphone with Android OS. The system includes encrypted user keys. In case of a key loss, it can be restored by means of a special mechanism using trust contacts.
