Ghana May Launch Own Digital Currency

E-cedi can be launched in the near future and will expand the capabilities of existing electronic payment systems in the country, as they alone can`t cope with the flow of transactions.

Now Ghanaians often pay for goods and services with mobile money. The transaction volume grew to $1.4 billion from 2017 to 2018.

Digital currencies will improve the financial sector by redistributing cash flows, which will positively affect the business and help reorient to new user needs.
