The head of the largest cryptocurrency exchange OKEx resigned

During the conversation with Bloomberg, the exchange representatives specified that Chris Lee motivated his departure by purely personal circumstances, including because of the intention to open a new page in his life. Thus, at least, the official reason for the resignation of the CEO in no way associated with working points within the team OKEx.

However, representative Lee added that in the future his client will still return to the blockchain industry.

Who will replace Chris Lee is still unknown.

It is worth noting that OKEx today remains one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges on the globe. Initially, it was based in mainland China under the name OKCoin, but later was forced to move to Hong Kong and change the brand because of the difficult conditions of coexistence with the Chinese Communist regime.

For the last day of trading the volume of transactions in OKEx amounted to more than $2.1 billion. For comparison bidding on another well known platform Binance during the same period reached $1.9 billion.

In the last month, OKEx announced plans to establish its own branch office in Malta, which, according to the exchange’s management, should become the basis for further business expansion.
