Brief History
The history of the Bitfinex exchange is full of events and challenges, reflecting the dynamic development of the cryptocurrency market. Launched in 2012, the platform has become one of the world's leading platforms, providing a comprehensive range of opportunities for retail traders and institutional investors. The developers focus on security; the platform also obliges users to undergo the KYC verification procedure and activate two-factor authentication (2FA).
Over the years, Bitfinex has faced challenges and difficulties but continues to maintain a position as a central player in the cryptocurrency landscape, driving innovation and providing opportunities for effective trading strategies.
Tools on the Platform
Bitfinex's trading interface has successfully integrated the TradingView technical analysis platform, providing users with instruments for efficient market analysis. Bitfinex is a locomotive of new approaches to trading; it not only provides spot and derivatives markets but also Margin Funding options. Users have the opportunity to fund other participants working with leverage, receiving a portion of the profits in return. Bitfinex offers an impressive range of over 200 tokens, as well as over 400 spot market crypto pairs and 60 futures contracts.
The Team Behind the Exchange
The Bitfinex platform is managed by a team of cryptocurrency and financial professionals headed by its longtime CEO JL van der Velde.
Leveraged Trading Opportunities on Bitfinex
The Margin Funding tool on the Bitfinex platform allows users who have passed an intermediate-level verification to lend money to other traders and earn income in return. In this way, traders can use funds that do not belong to the exchange, but to other traders, rewarding them for the loans provided.
Fees
Trading fees on the Bitfinex platform are calculated based on a trader’s role - a maker or taker, providing different rates for each type. Basic rates for Bitfinex spot market trades are 0.1% for makers and 0.2% for takers. For futures transactions, the basic fee is 0.02% for makers and 0.065% for takers. The ability to use UNUS SED LEO tokens provides the opportunity to reduce commissions, depending on how many of those tokens are in ownership. There are three levels of discounts and the more UNUS SED LEO tokens a user holds in their account, the lower the fee they pay.
