McArdle refers to a recent comment by gold market analyst Raoul Pal, who recently gave a promising forecast for gold and bitcoin in the Stephan Livera podcast.

He compared the current profitability of gold and Bitcoin, implying that markets prepare for the sudden end of a long series of dollar wins. In his opinion, the only question is when this will happen. Pal believes that during the imminent correction of the dollar, which will come in the near future (12 - 18 months), gold and Bitcoin will show their best, as they will become lifeboats for saving capital.
