The head of VEB proposes to use blockchain technology in public procurement
Its use does not require huge investments. The technology itself is not very capital-intensive, and the effect of it can occur immediately, at the moment. Our task for 2018 is to make eight pilot projects that should show us the effect of the use of blockchain.
VEB has been systematically implementing blockchain technology in a number of its projects for several years and, in General, is an active associate of the blockchain movement in the Russian territory. According to the Director of VEB, all projects started in this area "are developing very successfully". We are talking about solutions developed in conjunction with Rosreestr, AHML, Pension Fund, Rospatent and a number of others.
In particular, Gorkov reported that, according to the results of the application of blockchain technology in the health sector in the Novgorod region, the savings of 100 thousand rubles spent on the introduction of technology have already exceeded several million rubles. Added to this is a huge social bonus: thanks to the blockchain, the process of distribution of medicines has become clear, fast and transparent.

By the end of this year, the Bank plans to create a working prototype of the public procurement system on the blockchain and immediately begin its implementation.
