The Russian court implicitly accepted cryptocurrency as a property

The password to Ilya Tsarkov’s cryptocurrency wallet who was recognized bankrupt in October 2017, will be transmitted to Leonov by a court decision. Tsarkov’s debt to Slavinvestbank amounts to 18,9 million rubles.

On February 26 court of first instance had refused inclusion of cryptocurrency in an insolvency estate, on the grounds that such a thing isn’t contained in the Civil Code.

As Tsarkov’s representatives have reported, he has 0,2 BTC in his online wallet.

Tsarkov insists that the cryptocurrency cannot be characterized as a property, as it doesn’t belong to the material world and it was not recognized by law.
