Fold App Raises $2.5 Million for Lightning BTC Payments

Fold editor Will Reeves said in his personal blog that from now Fold users can spend both — fiat and bitcoins in offline and online stores. Also, he told about the cooperation with large venture funds, such as Craft Ventures, Goldcrest Capital, Slow Ventures, Fulgur Ventures and with the digital asset management company Coinshares. As a result, up to $2.5 million was invested in the further development of the project.  

It should be mentioned that cryptocurrency payments are gradually gaining popularity in the retail sector. According to Kaspersky Lab, about 13% of the 12 thousand users, who live in 22 different countries, use digital coins for online shopping.
